Carpets made of natural materials are not a separate section in our offer for nothing. The assortment of silk, wool, sisal, coconut or linen carpets is very popular, especially among more demanding customers who like to indulge in a slightly more luxurious feeling under their feet. However, it is always good to know the properties of the material in order to make the most of the natural fibres' potential.

Sisal carpets

Sisal fibre has several pleasant properties that make carpets very popular, which is why we have a lot of them on offer.

Features of sisal carpets:

  • Sisal carpets absorb noise very well.
  • Sisal fibres are also naturally resistant to fire, so sisal carpets are even a suitable choice in rooms with a fireplace or stove.
  • On the other hand, sisals are not very suitable for humid environments; natural fibre retains its natural absorbency and carpet is destroyed faster in this environment.

Sisal carpets not only stand out in appearance in the myriad structures of the woven surface, but also in the number of colours and shades. At the same time, they are not care-intensive and ordinary vacuuming is sufficient.

Tasibel sisal carpets in online catalog

Sisal is a purely natural fibre obtained from the leaves of the sisal agave palm.

Our proven supplier of sisal carpets is the Belgian company Tasibel, which has been producing sisal carpets for almost 100 years.

Wool carpets

Wool is a classic choice as a material for the production of carpets – wool carpets are considered very comfortable and easy to maintain.

Properties of wool carpets:

  • Pure wool carpets have very good acoustic and thermal insulation properties.
  • Depending on the surrounding environment, wool can bind and release moisture, thus improving the climate in the rooms.
  • The wool fibres have a shape memory, which means that they return to their original shape even after compression.
  • Wool is a flame-retardant material, so carpets meet the appropriate standards of non-flammability and can be installed in hotels.

Mohair rugs are a special type of wool rug. Their price used to be twice the price of wool carpets, but now both materials are sold at about the same price.

Mohair is actually a wool fibre obtained from the fur of Angora goats.

Silk carpets

Natural silk carpets have always been synonymous with luxury. They excel in their glossy appearance, softness to the touch and smooth fibre surface.

Properties of silk carpets:

  • • Silk fibres are highly resistant to wear.
  • • Silk carpets provide high walking comfort.
  • • However, the resistance of silk fibres decreases with moisture, and therefore silk carpets are not suitable for humid environments that are harmful to them

Natural silk fibre is obtained from the cocoons of the silkworm larvae.

Linen carpets

Linen fibre is one of the strongest natural fibres. Luxurious and comfortable linen carpets are especially suitable for residential and representative spaces.

Properties of linen carpets:

  • Linen carpets are among the most durable of natural materials.
  • They provide a very comfortable soft tread.
  • Linen carpets are naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial, as well as resistant to mould, pollen and dust.
  • Like many other natural fibres, linen rugs are not suitable for humid environments
Flax fibre is obtained from the stem of common flax, with only about 10 percent of it being used.

Combination of materials

Carpets, in the production of which several natural materials have been combined, have a clear advantage over single-material carpets: they take the best of each material and the individual benefits add up.

Carpets made of a mixture of sisal and wool look very interesting, for example, as the alternation of a smooth and coarser structure has its own charm, which is not created by a purely wool or purely sisal carpet. Likewise, if silk is combined with linen, for example, the resulting carpet will be beautifully shiny with a soft tread and, at the same time, more durable than pure silk carpets thanks to the linen yarn.
