Vertisol

Seabed materials

Up to 75% of all plastic waste is located on the seabed. The Spanish brand Vertisol works with fibres made from this raw material during production . After significant investments in development, it is now able to produce 100% recycled polyester fibres. The material bears the SeaPlanet FR mark and meets the Cradle to Cradle Certiﬁed™ Bronze certification, which guarantees, among other things, the absence of toxic substances in the production process. More than 400 boats and 1,500 fishermen are involved in waste collection on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Object Carpet

For cleaner oceans

Yesterday's waste – today a source of environmentally friendly hi-tech fibre. This is the approach of the German brand Object Carpet. Proof of its interest in sustainability is, for example, the PLACES OF ORIGIN collection of carpets, made from 100% recycled ECONYL® nylon fibre made from industrial waste and old fishing nets that would otherwise end up on the seabed. Every 10,000 tonnes of ECONYL® crude material saves 70,000 barrels of crude oil and 57,100 tonnes of CO2.

Anker

Focused on recycling

Anker is one of the companies behind the development of the environmentally friendly ECONYL® material, and also one of the European pioneers of material recycling and new directions in the field of environmental protection. At present, almost all residual nylon fibres are recycled in production. The manufacturer uses Aquafil fibres for the production of new recycled ECONYL® fibres, which are then reused for the production of Anker carpets.

Fletco

Wind at 100%

As of 1 August 2016, the Danish company solely uses electricity generated from wind farms in the North Sea. Along with this decision, the light sources were replaced throughout the operation. The use of LED light sources has reduced consumption by about 50%. Fletco products hold a number of certificates such as BRE, REACH, EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), GUT, Life Balance and more.

A bet on the sun

Strict selection of raw materials and certification of products by prestigious world organisations are a natural part of Artig's comprehensive approach to environmental protection. In addition, in 2010 the company's management decided to significantly invest in renewable sources, specifically in solar energy. The roof of the factory was covered by a total of 4,173 solar panels, which can produce about one gigawatt-hour of electricity each year. This saves 600 tonnes of CO2 per year during production.

Free of phthalates and plasticisers

Customer health is a top priority for Objectflor. The proof of this is a number of certificates and certifications. Of course, all floor coverings are fully recyclable, but Objectflor strives for more. They test for a long time and recommend, for example, adhesives for their products, which must meet strict requirements for environmental friendliness. The company is also involved in many working groups in its sector – such as DGNB.
